Hey,

I have a primary SATA drive (the only drive on my system) and it
recently crashed and needs a reinstallation of Windows XP (the system
refuses to let me boot into Windows in any form, safe or otherwise). I
need ot copy certain files from the hard drive to another storage
device, but the only hard drives that I have available to me are IDE
drives. I have tried copying through the motherboard but it does not
not recognize the IDE. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Work out why it doesnt recognise the IDE and fix that.

Try booting a Bart PE CD and doing the copy from that.
