hard drive access

Hello, I am aware of software that will tell you just about
everything about a given drive. But what I need is software
to help me find out what process is reading and/or writing
my main C: drive on a regular basis to the point that when
I set my hibernate to 2 hrs of inactivity, my machine never
hibernates. I think maybe it is the Bit Defender updates
but I'm not sure. But even so I can walk into the room
where this desktop unit is just about anytime of the day
and see the hard drive light on the front flicker every 6 secs
or so.
Any ideas ?
 
Thanks John I did download and run it, actually FileMon has been replaced
by ProcMon and it shows just about everything, in fact so much it would
take me days to cipher through all the data it collects in real time.
However I think I have found the culprit of my unwanted disk activity that
is keeping my hibernate from ever happening. I have nothing scheduled on the
machine since it is a desktop and I just want it to hibernate when not in use.
I walked into the desktop room this morning when I got up and found the
hard drive light burning solid and I could hear the disk. So I quickly started
up the task manager to see what the heck was causing all of this.
Keep in mind I manually run antivirus (Bitdefender) on this machine twice
a week, and so far no issues have been found. Anyhow the Taskmanager
shows a process called oodiag.exe using a very large (the largest of all
processes) amount of memory. So I google it and it is owned by O&O
Disk Image software. I do have O&O Disk Image installed on this
machine. I have written them asking why this particular process of their
app set would be running without my knowledge and have not heard
back yet. Google says this process is a defrag tool. I do not know why
O&O would be defragging my machine. Anyhow that's what I have found
so far and hoping for an actual hibernate ability in the future.
