I would like to either cut a CD with full windows functionality or a second
option is that I have a external hard disk.
Question 1. How do I cut a CD with Windows?
Question 2. Is there a way to make the external USB hard disk bootable? I
have partition Magic 8 so I can make a dos partition on the external disk but
then how do I get it bootable? My computer has the option to boot from a
removable drive but I am not sure if the drive is accessable?
Anyone have any Ideas?

The USB boot option is a BIOS option.........you need to look into your BIOS
to see if you have that option.
I would use a program like Acronis True Image to Clone/Image your present HD
onto another HD..either internal or external.
This makes a fully bootable clone ....which would then be removed and
saved.Any Changes done to the system at a later date would need to be
updated on that :clone:If your HD fails or XP does not boot switch HD
The "expanded" XP files would not fit onto a CD.........but the partition
that XP is in could be imaged to a DVD by means of the above mentioned
program. The program also makes a recover disk with which to start your
system in order to restore that image in case XP cannot start
