I have 2 partitions on my hard drive, one for day to day use, one for backup. They were created by the manufacturers of my computer. The problem is that windows gives me an error message every 5 minutes, saying 'Low hard disk space'. It is refering to the backup partition, which has 2% free space. Is there any way I can stop this message from appearing, or can I increase the partition size
If you know, then please reply, its driving me crazy
Thankyou

XP is doing its job in warning you of this - best delete some data,
repartition your drive or get a bigger one. You can only repartition a drive
(without losing data) by using software such as Partition Magic.

Well, the simplest solution is still have some of your data backed up to a
CD.
It is also recommened to have at least 300 MB free of your Hard Disk.

But somewhere I heard you should have at least 10% of disk space free of
your Hard Disk.

a.. Run the Registry Editor (REGEDIT.EXE).
a.. Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\
Policies\ Explorer.
a.. If it's not there, create a DWORD value and call it
NoLowDiskSpaceChecks.
a.. Double-click on NoLowDiskSpaceChecks, and enter the value 1, and press
OK.
