Hi, I have a new Samsung SP2014N, 200GB IDE drive that I was using in a Dell Workstation. While removing it from the bay, I damaged a component - that I feel is a diode. If any of you can please give me an idea as what component it is and also some places where I can get one, I would really appreciate it. The attached image will give you more details. The damage broke the component but nothing else, the ckt. is intact and if I get this component replaced (soldered) I strngly feel it should be just fine.
I have two more similar drives also with me, thought of swapping the ckt. board but that seems to be soldered and not a connector type.
Any help is highly appreciated. I was an hardware engineer 15 years ago and I am confused with these surface mount devices which look similar and I am really lost here.
Thanks,
Dubba
