My motherboard is asking to upgrade an install winxp
service pack 1.Just installed Winxp home on a new HDD [60
Gb],c-2047Gb and d-the reminind Gb.Allready nearly full
[HDD C ],not enough Mb remaining to install the Win xp
service pack 1 as reported when I downloaded the service
pack from MS site on the internet. Is there a means how to
change the partitions without using FDISK,FORMAT OR
destroy all my new WIN XP installation. All partitions are
FAT 32. NEW USER

I think that should be 2047mb not gb. Not enough for the c: drive....
should be at least 5gb, I'd recommend 10gb

Without reformatting... you'll need to use a thirdparty software like
Partition Magic or BootIt NG.

There's Partition Magic from PowerQuest (http://www.powerquest.com/)
but if it's really a new installation, why not save some money and
invest an hour or two to re-install with proper sized partitions?
All partitions are FAT 32.

Why?

get yourself a program called 'partition magic' it will
do wonders for you...and is the solution to your prob.
