Did you set the drive jumper as the USB case directions called for? The
electronics in most cases want the drive to be jumpered as "Master".

create partition and format

thanks for your input, the problem is i can't see the hard disk in "my
computer" or "explore". do you mean i shuld plug in to IDE interface on
the motherborad and then format from DOS?

thanks

thanks for your input, i did set it to master and still doesn't work.
when i turn on the USB case, it is very clear to hear the clicking sound,
it seems working fine but just couldn't see it listed in the "my
computer"

thanks

It will not be listed until you partition and format it.
Go to Control panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk
Management.

It should show up there. Right click on the drive to partition and format.

I've had the exact same problem and
fixed
it by assigning a drive letter. I used
Partition Magic,
but Disk Management will do the same
thing.
ControlPanel/Administrative
Tools/Computer
Management/Storage/DiskManagement
