I have added a Seagate St3323A 3 gig hard drive that came
from another pc. I need to download some files from it but
Windows 2000 does not assign it a drive letter. Unable to
see it in Explorer. I disconnected my CDrom drive to use
it's position on the MB, IDE0 as slave.

Thank you.

Sometimes you have to change the "master" jumper setting
on a HD when you install a 2nd HD. Even though the
original HD is going to stay set as master, you may have
to reconfigure it because you're adding another HD. Check
that first, put the Seagate(2nd) HD on the same cable and
set it to slave. If you get the same results, rt click My
Computer and go to manage. You should see "storage",
expand it if necessary and click on "disk management".
All system drives should show up in the right side
window. If you don't see it, rt click "disk management"
and choose rescan disks. That might help you get it to
be seen.
