Hangs up the PC

Downloaded the beta on my W2k (up to date system). Closed
everything else running and tried to initiate a scan.
System locked instantly !!!!! Have uninstalled and
reinstalled several times. Same result each time. Nothing
in any logs or error messages. The interface looks good
but this software is an absolute non starter(literally).

Did you scan and remove items? Did that change the behavior in normal
startup, or not?

If it is still locking hard in normal mode, there's a conflict with a
startup item or service which is disabled in safe mode.

When i completed the scan in safe mode nothing was found.
I then removed everything from start up and rebooted. Of
course it hung up again. Sometimes it hangs when i clicked
on the memory option but everytime i tried a scan it froze
immediately. I just noticed someone else is having the
same kind of problem so its nice to know i'm not
alone !!!!!! Nice of them to let us test their software.
Back to drawing board me thinks. Any other suggestions ??

Finding issues not seen in in-house testing is one function of a beta test.
One of the attributes of Windows as a platform is that it works with a wide
variety of hardware and software from thousands of vendors. Compare that to
the Mac. This is both a strength, and a problem--there are going to be
errors that only show up with some particular combination of ingredients
(hardware and software) on a system. Given that more then 3 million folks
have downloaded this beta, I don't find the level of problems here too
daunting.

I don't have a fix or a workaround for you at this point. Given the
severity of the issue you see, I'd uninstall and wait until a further beta
is released and test again then.
