Hey, all.
I have a doozy of an annoyance (not really a problem; I
have a work-a-round) When I push the power button to
start my system, everything starts up fine; fans start,
hard drive starts, cd roms read, but there is not POST
beep, and the monitor doesn't display anything. The hd
light stays on for about 30 seconds and then it shuts off
and nothing happens. Its still on but nothing ever
displays. Now, from here, if i do a restart or soft
reboot of the power button, everything starts up normally,
and the system restarts normally in windows. Its only
when i start from a cold boot that I have the hangup
problem.
I had just installed some memory not too long ago. Took
those out, put the old one back, same thing. Took all the
hardware off except the hardrive and graphics, same
thing. I flashed and reset the BIOS, same thing. I'm
kinda running out of options...I suspect the power supply,
but it doesn't make sense to me why it wouldn't start up
at the beginning.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
