hanging connection through browser

After I connect to the internet either via Dial up or DSL
ethernet...I can surf for about 20 minutes, then my
connection hangs. IT IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE ISP...I
have three diffrerent accounts. They say it's an issue
with IE. I am running IE on XP. This was pre installed
on my pc when purchased. I don't even see it in my
Add/Remove programs option within the control panel.
There is no "FIX" button option. Any advice would help,
thanks.

Can you ping when IE hangs?
From A dos prompt execute
ping www.microfost.com
Are the results ok.

DSL issues.
