hang on boot screen

I seem to have a problem with my pc booting up. whenever i turn it on, i get some sort of message that is something along the lines of 'ultra dma 5 SMART capable but disabled' and then it seems to hang there. i moved the hard drive into another pc and it booted up fine. ive also reset the bios by moving the jumper over and then moving it back. if the hard drive works fine on another Pc then am i rite in assuming that i have either a bios or hardware issue?
any suggestions on resloving the issue quickly and easily would be great!
