I've installed Halo in 2 different laptops.
First one, Compaq Evo n800v, P4mobile 1,8 GHz, 256MbRAM, ATI Mobility Radeon 7500. No problem at all, works fine
Second, Acer Aspire 1600, P4 2,4GHz, 256MbRAM, ATI Mobility Radeon 9000. Disaster: game crashes, only hot shutdown possible. Everytime I reboot the HD is checked for errors, and I get a message from MS guys (Online crash Analysis) saying that ATI 's got the problem. I've updated all drivers, directX & stuff, but no way. Additionally, got the sensation that it's getting worse day after day for no precise reason. Any clue?

I had already checked the MKB article you mention. The problem here is, basically, that this is a Mobility Radeon instead of a "desktop" card. Following the instructions proposed by the article results in complete uninstallation of the current drivers, and impossibility to install the Catalyst drivers (no hardware found). In theory, ATI does not provide support for its Mobility products, they refer you to the computer manufacturer support resources. I've already downloaded & installed the most recent drivers from Acer for both the ATI card & SiS chipset, without any success.

How should I update Halo? I bought the game 3 weeks ago, does it need updating yet?
