Half-Life 2 coupon question...

This has probably already been covered earlier, but I couldn't find it. I
just upgraded to a 9600 Pro from a GF3 Ti200, and I love it (I ordered from
Newegg). However, I've seen some adverts mentioning a free download of
HL2 - is that on all brands/models/manufacturers of the ATI line, or just
certain models/manufacturers/brands? For reference, I picked up a Power
Color 9600 Pro (retail pack). Any info would be greatly appreciated.

That comes with the "XT" boards only.

No....a friend of mine got the coupon with a 9600 AIW.

It came with several models of ATI branded boards. I dont know if it comes
with any of the other branded boards.

I have an ATI 9800 Pro that had the offer and a Saphire 9600 that did not.

It only comes with CERTAIN models/manufactures of ATI/ATI Powered
cards.

Typically : 9600se, 9600XT, 9600-AIW, 9800Pro, 9800XT.

If it didn't come with the card... nothing you can do about it. You
either DL the game when its available (Easy for some of us) or wait
about 4 weeks for them to mail you the CD-ROM(s).

Also includes Half Life, Counter Strike and some other crappy old
valve games.
 
If you look on the ATI website , in a rather oscure place, it states that
the Built by ATI XT's, 9600SE, 9600 AIW Pro come with the HL2 coupon and if
a ratailer wants to give it to you also you can get it. Bestbuy has the 9800
pro for 279 after rebates and it comes with HL2 (coupon). Other vendors give
the coupon too but you have to check with them.

Thanks for the info, everyone. That's pretty much what I expected. Good
thing I didn't buy the card for HL2...
