'Ello,

I've got a problem that when I'm editing a movie the preview screen on the
right hand side is half green, not after publishing only during editing which
is making it almost impossible ot edit anything.

At first I thought it was one of the codec packs I have downloaded so I
uninstalled them whic had to effect and finally I reformatted the computer
still with no effect, I don't understand what it could be as it used to work
perfectly fine.

Any help will be greatly appricated, I've put a link here to show you what I
see in the preview screen.

Maybe the following info copied from
the net will offer some ideas:

Fixing the Green Bar Problem in Windows Movie Maker
http://www.bernzilla.com/item.php?id=884

When I tried to follow the directions, I was unable to find XVid on my
computer. So I googled XVid and then went to ( I think) the 2nd entry to
download XVid. After I downloaded it, I was able to follow the directions
from bernzilla and when I published a video - Voila!! no green bar!!!!

'Ello,

Thank you for the reply I've read that solution else where but it doesn't
seem to work even after I installed xVid when I try going to that decorder
part it jsut gives me an error message that some module cannot be opened,
I've tried a reinstall of it but it has no effect.

Do you have any other solutions? I think it maybe because I'm using an x64
version of Vista that the xVid decoder part won't load correctly but I'm not
sure and I was unable to find a x64 version of it.

'Ello,

That's ok I just now managed to work it, basically because WMM has problesm
with some codecs (I think it's to do with a Windows Update as I used to be
able to edit these fiels just perfectly and after a clean install and just
updating windows I came with the same problem).

However I finally managed to work it out like I said by converting the video
using STOIK Video Convertor which is freeware. Thanks for your help any way.
