Should Halo 2 for Vista work on Vista Home Premium 64bit? The package
says "For Vista" and another labels says "Halo 2 PC 32-Bit Vista. I
asked the store clerk and was told, "It should work but it is not
optimized for 64bit."

It installed, screwed up my sound so I looked for and update. After
installed the first update I got the BLUE screen of death. I
uninstalled Halo 2 and did a system restore just be safe.

I am playing Halo 2 on Vista Ultimate x64 with no problems like that. It
runs great for me, only bug I ever had was a disk read error, but fixed that
through another question I asked on here. Hope you get it working, and sorry
I can't be of better help then to tell you that I have it working fine on
x64. Do you have all the latest drivers for your PC installed? Probably
already checked this, but if you haven't, would be a good start. Good luck

Thanks all, at least I know I should be able to get it working. I do
have all the latest drivers installed including a Nvidia beta driver
for the video card. I had read somewhere that the beta Nvidia 158.45
causes the blue screen so I may try going back to their 158.24 WHQL
driver but their beta release fixed problems I was having with that
driver.

I really find it odd that I can install a demo like Lost Planet or an
old program like Unreal Tournament 2004 without any problems and this
Microsoft game gives me nothing but problems and a blue screen stop
error. I can't remember the last time I saw one of those! I should
have found a Halo 2 demo and given that a try first.

Just as an update I downloaded new video drivers from 3DGuru (160.04
WHQL) and managed to get everything working. The sound was my
problem, I had enabled a feature that I did not have and of course
Halo 2 had to chose that feature. Still I have DTS or Dolby Surround
but my Logitech speaker system tells me it is only getting stereo.
