question for anyone who may know:

how do i know if i've been hacked?

i'm at work and surfing the web. all of the sudden a pop up window from the
toolbar area down by the LAN connection icon that read something like:

Windows error, there are more than one ??instances?? of the same IP address.

or something like that. i'm always getting popup window mssgs that annoy me,
so i just clicked it off. but now i'm afraid i'm hacked in some way.

anyone have any ideas?

Talk to your office LAN administrator.

It sounds like there are computers on the network with duplicate IP
addresses which is not a good thing. As David said check with the network
admin. It can be very difficult to determine if you have been hacked which
is different than having malware/spyware. Often checking the security log
via Event Viewer is a good start. --- Steve
