I was trying to reach a url today that I had no trouble reaching yesterday,
and friends had no trouble reaching it today, either.

However, today all I see is a capital H in the left hand corner of the
screen. If I refresh the screen, the H gets smaller.

Is this because of spyware? I have no trouble reaching other sites.

A URL would be helpful.
First try clearing your cache. Failing that check for blocked cookies
of that site.

It could be a a bug in the httpd server service generating a bad page.

Strange - I ran several top anti-spyware and AV programs and found nothing.
Then I closed Zone Alarm, unplugged the net connection, and restarted Zone
Alarm and was able to connect to the site.

Is Zone Alarm needed with the full Avast Web Shield package?

ZoneAlarm is a FireWall application and does not perform all the same functions as a anti
virus product so the general answer is Yes, it is needed.

The question is why did ZoneAlarm barf on that website and why did it do it then and not
before ?
If restarting ZoneAlarm fixed the problem then it may have just been a transitory "bug" in
the software.

When a strange problem or error occurs, reboot the PC and see if the re-booted PC still
exhibits the same problem. If no then it was a transitory problem. If it stills occurs
then the problem needs to be isolated.
