GUI Problems

In System Explorers the running services will display the
first time, maybe the second, but eventually this screen
will not come and remain blank. Thought it was fixed
after last update as it used to fail second time, per
session, everytime. Now it's a bit more stable but
eventually won't display running services until the
machine is rebooted. Restarting the product does no good.

That's pretty interesting. Presumably, this fix:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

isn't relevant, because the failure goes away on reboot.

What other antivirus or antispyware apps are installed?
 
I have spybot and adaware loaded on this PC but only use
them on demand with no real time services running, and
have not used either for months.
 
It won't hurt at all to try the 3 step fix I posted--shouldn't hurt
anything.
What about antivirus?
