I am attempting to start up a "guest" account, but when I
do the account is useless. The internet will not dial up
and I get error messages when I try to run any programs.
Is there something I'm missing?

so far, all i know with guest accounts is that it won't connect to the
internet as well as you can't install software and other maintenance
jobs...but running programs should be fine.

Brian,

Guest account, by design cannot connect to internet. Cannot initialize a RAS
connection. But it can use an already ON cable/dsl/lan or already connected
dial-up account using Fast user Switching.

Dial-up connections might terminate while switching users. To prevent that,

Brian,
I set myself up recently with a guest account, and the internet connection
wizard, came to life and through it, I was able to configure, an internet
service.
Without the web connection, programs that use the internet, obviously won't
work, will they ?.
Hence the error messages.
