guest account

The reason I want to is because any hacker who may reach
my computer can sign on using my guest account, unless of
course, it is password protected. I have the guest account
turned off, but nevertheless, I feel better if it was
password protected. XP, by default, assigns the name of
the owner account, as "owner", and all the hackers on the
planet know that. The guest account (if you have changed
the name of your owner account like I have) would be their
next choice I'm sure. I just dont want to help them out by
allowing free access. If it is password protected, their
job is much more difficult. If it is not, then I have
given them permission to hack my computer, is the way I
feel about it.

The guest account is EXTREMELY limited in what it can do - far more so than
any limited user you may set up. I shouldn't worry if I were you. As long as
it is turned off, then it can ONLY be turned on by an account with admin
rights anyway.

Hi Dave,

Go to Start/Admin Tools/Computer Management/Local Users and
Groups/Users/Right click Guest Account/Set Password.
