After finally getting together £200 for the RIMM kit I need for my Dell, I
followed the DABS link that someone (Alien Zord?) posted only to find that
the 512 kit isn't £170 (whether that's inc or ex VAT I don't know) but £264!
In fact, I see nothing at £170 (inc or ex VAT). The closest is a Kingston
ValueRAM PC800 module, which is useless to me! The 512MB kit is £264.37
(£270 plus postage - that wasn't a typo was it AZ? ;o)) I hate Dabs anyway -
they don't do phone support anymore, nor do they take Switch...

Looks like I need to save a bit more! I know RAM prices are up and down more
often than a nympho's underpants but that's a 64% increase in only ten days!

Look here: http://www.dabs.com/uk/search.htm?searchPhrase=RIMM

I'm *not* a happy bunny...

with your terible luck...as soon as you've saved up that extra money
and you go to purchase the RAM, the price will probably have dropped...
and you'll be stuck with a lot of extra cash <g>

PMSL!! As I said I wouldn't purchase from Dabs if they were the last
retailer on earth and I needed something urgently (a word of which they
appear to have no concept). They used to offer CS and TS via traditional
methods (i.e. phone and fax); now you have to fill in an 'eNote' and are
assigned a number (it's like queuing at the cheese or delicatessen counter
in the supermarket - you take a ticket and wait for your number to be
called). Occasionally when you buy they get it extremely right, but when
they don't - or you have to return something (for which you are charged)
it's hellish.

So, unless I can find it cheaper elsewhere, I'm stuck with paying £300 via
Dell...

GRRRR!!!!
