Hi,

Structure:

Group A has members user A and user B

Group B has members user A and user C

Group C has members group A and group B

What happens if I send a mail from group C?

Does user A receive 2 mails of does it a filter operation?

Thx.

Doesn't matter what group the user is in that sends the mail. I think
you mean what happens when you sent to Group C which has Group A and
Group B nested into it.

The answer is it depends on the mail server software you are using and
how they handle it. If you are talking about Exchange, it should be that
the full membership is expanded and unique entries that are mail or
mailbox enabled are processed and sent a copy of the message.

Yes I work with Exchange.

So when you send a mail to a group, exchange gets all the e-mails from
the accounts that have one, filters the doubles and send a copy.

So the user gets 1 copy of the message.

Correct, exchange expands the group into a unique listing of mail or
mailbox enabled users/contacts and then sends one message to each.
