Hello,

Within a Windows 2003 AD domain, is there an easy way to group Windows XP
workstation accounts into a single security group??? Manually moving a few
hundred XP workstations into the group is a daunting task.

Thanks,
Troy

Do you mean moving the XP Pro users into a security group?

On your W2k3 DC or on any member XP computer, use GetComputer "Windows XP Pro"
from tip 8035 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com,
to issue a dsmod or net group /domain command.

Troy,

If I am not mistaken you could simply select all of the computer account
objects and right click and 'Add to security group'. This would be really
easy if you have all of them in a nice OU separated from other OSes....

Please note, however, that I have not played with 2003 much. Jerold has
given you a nice tip. The new ds* tools are really neat from what I have
seen.

How about a GPO based on a WMI Filter? I think that's what I really need...

I'm not trying to figure out how to code the filter query.
