When i group a date field by week on a report in Access 97 the report
correctly splits by week but the dates are all mixed up
I have set it to not pint out weekends only week days and if i remove the
grouping it works fine. But i need this grouping in so i can do some
calculations on the grouop footer

I get something like this

Tuesday 02-Dec-03
Wednesday 03-Dec-03
Thusday 04-Dec-03
Friday 05-Dec-03
Monday 01-Dec-03

Friday 12-Dec-03
Monday 08-Dec-03
Tuesday 09-Dec-03
Wednesday 10-Dec-03
Thursday 11-Dec-03

Any ideas appreciated

Cheers
Dave

I am not an expert in Access by any stretch of the
imagination, however, I have found that if you add
another field and label it what you like (DAY #), but
assign the days of the week numbers. Assign them
something like Monday as 1, Tuesday as 2, and so on.
Then, when you choose a way to sort the days, add another
sort filter and sort them in the order of the field
corresponding with the days of the week. Example: Sort
by "DAYS OF THE WEEK" then sort by "DAY #" and sort them
asending or decending order depending on what you want to
do with them.
Hope I have been of some help. As I said, I am not an
expert with Access, but I have found this is a helpful
way of sorting when it comes to many different ways to
sort. I know I have many different things to sort so I
have like 7-10 filters to make my database easier to read
and make out.

Try going into 'sorting and grouping' there should be provision to sort or group by any field. Possible the sorting is being done on a different field.
I am no expert on this and you may get a different idea from someone more knowledgable but I had the same problem and it worked for me.
Good luck,
Pedro

Thanks everyone who replied,

I manged to fix it by adding another sort on the same field but grouping on
each value
I had already tried this but i found it has to go after not before the group
by week
