Grouping email by date received

Steve

I would like to create a view in my Inbox that "groups by" the date
e.g. 2003/08/09 all of the email I received that day. It is my
understanding that a "grouped by" field can't be a user field or
calculated field. Could I create a text field in an incoming mail
event and place a text date and use that or is there some simple way
to do this?
Thanks,
-Steve-

What kind of version of Outlook are you using? Outlook 2003 will be able to
group messages.

You can also define your own view to sort first by date and then by another
value. You can do this under View-> Arrange By-> Current View-> Customize
Current View

Hope this helps!

Yeah, I was afraid of that. The Show in Groups is a function only availble
in Outlook 2003. As far as I know you can't do what you want with Outlook
2000 as you can't Group By date. The date displayed in the appointment is a
part of the field Start/End Time. Grouping it by that field also includes
the time so you'll end up with way too many groups.

Well, I guess you already found at least one reason to upgrade to Outlook
2003 ;-)
