I am using group policy to do some settings that should
be applied to all users that uses the computer.
If I rightclick the startbutton and choose properties I
get taskbar and start menu properties. Under taskbar
there are 2 checkboxes that I would like to be applied
for all users, it is: "lock the taskbar" and "show
quicklaunch", where in group policy can I configure this?
I cant find it....

Hello Jens,

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article:-
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=292504
"Policy Settings for [Start] Menu in Windows XP Pro/HE"
does not mention "lock the taskbar" and "show quicklaunch"
(as expected).

There does not appear to be a Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article titled "Policy Settings for Taskbar in Windows XP".

If I find any registry settings, I will let you know.

Jan,

Note the article is for the Start Menu, not the Taskbar.

Lock Taskbar is located in User Configuration, Administrative Templates,
Start Menu and Taskbar, Lock the Taskbar

The Quick Launch bar is a different story, as its setting is stored in a
Registry value that is only updated when the user logs off of the computer.
There is no easy way to set it to off, and have it stick, as its not
something that can be restricted, to my knowledge.
