We are running windows 2000 server and windows 2000
workstations. I need to be able to restrict users
from accessing certain websites. Could someone
please point me in the right direction to get
started? Administrative templates in AD appear to have
nothing I can use???? thanks for your help....bill

Group policy will not be able to help. You would have to look at
firewall/content filtering.

That's a job for a proxy server or blocking software, not a security
policy.

You might be able to configure those computers with ipsec policy that uses
ipsec filtering which can be implemented to a large number of computers
using Group Policy. You could create a general rule that permits all
outbound port 80/443 tcp traffic and then add specific rules to block
unwanted websites by ip address. This will not be as flexable or
configurable as a proxy server, etc. But it may be worth looking into. ---
