Group Policy to revert Registry on reboot

Hello,

The problem is that a change made to the Registry (new
value added to existing key) disappears after reboot. I
think this is because of a Group Policy or combination of
Policies.
Could somebody advise which policies apply, if any ?
May be I'm wrong and there is another reason ?

You have neither named the Key/Valuename nor given any hints from which
to guess at the answer. :-(

Thanks for reply. I'll give more details.
The Registry key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\...\
The missing value is string type. It belongs to a service.
This service reads the value on startup, and if it doesn't
exist, the service fails. If service's startup is modified
to allow interact with desktop, the service creates this
Registry value and runs fine even after removing "interact
with desktop" and restarting, until reboot. After reboot
the Registry value disappears and the service fails again.
I own the sources of this service and am sure it does not
delete the Registry value. I can not reproduce the problem
on my machine, it happens on a client's production machine
and they won't allow to "play" with it to figure out what
happens. The client's machine is Compaq Proliant ML370
running W2K SP?

new thread to attract the attention of others who frequest this
group. Perhaps they will have some ideas.

That the client won't let you investigate on the problem machine
leaves few options unfortunately. Sorry, and best of luck to you.
