Is it possible to create a group policy in AD to
automatically log a user off if the computer is idle for
x amount of time? If so, how would I go about doing it?

Thanks in advance.

Password protected screen saver would lock the workstation - would that help
you?

Re logoff, what if the user had unsaved files open? Sounds dangerous to me.

I know it is dangerous, but no more dangerous than not
saving the file before walking away (power outage/system
failure, etc). My company tracks the time users spend at
their computers/terminals (via login/logoff scripts), and
some leave for personal breaks, and don't log themselves
out like they should (company policy). My job is to
enforce company policy as much as I can. Therefore,
password protected screen saver wouldn't do the job.

I have heard of 3rd-party "screensavers" that log out the current user. I
don't know how they work (but you can call the logout function of rundll32
from a shortcut)... but maybe with that knowledge, Google can get you
further.
