Group Policy Questions..

Here is the rundown:

1. I might or might not have deleted the Domain
Controller Policy that was linked to it.

I recreated a DC Policy for it, but when it is applied,
i'm getting revoked administrative priveleges to install
programs. If I take it off, and wait a couple of hours,
everything is back to normal.

My question is: Is it required to have a Domain
Controller Policy, if so, Does it need to be the same as
the Domain policy?

2. I created a policy for my Telemarketing group, but it
seems like after a few days, week, or a month, the proxy
server setting is disable and they are free to surf the
web, and download programs. It happens to some of the
people but not all.

My question is: Is there a setting in the policy that i
have to enable/disable, in order for it to be on 24/7 -
365 days, and to have an effect on the entire
Telemarketing group?

Hello Steven,

For 1: Yes you need a Default Domain Controller policy. No it is not the
same as the Default Domain policy it has different settings.

For Windows 2000 check out the following to get your Default Domain
Controller policy back:

For 2: Enable IE Policy Processing: "Process Even if the Group Policy Has
Not Changed"

Thank you for the prompt response.

I was told to look for this script from Microsoft:
recreateDefPol.vbx , but was not able to find it @ all.
Can someone point me the url to the site?

Thanx!
