Hello everyone,
I have a problem applying a custom goup policy. This policy has an
administrative template (removable_storage.adm), downloaded from microsoft
wich blocks removable storage. I loaded in AD and nothing happens to the
computers in this OU.
I also tried to use this in a group policy on a local computer, but still
nothing.
In the local group policy, if I make a change in Computer Configuration
nothing happens. Only if I make a change in User Configuration changes are
applied.
The problem is the removable_storage.adm is an Administrative Template for
Computer Configuration.

Why my settings in Computer Configuration are not applied?

Thanks in advance...

What does the template look like? Have you disabled machine
configuration processing for that particular Group Policy you are trying
to make this setting?

cheers,

Hi, thanks for the answer.

How can I do this? I have little experience in Group Policy.
I have attached the template...

The template file seems to be correct. Could you please tell me the
exact steps you took to make the policy settings and import the ADM
template? Have you created a new Group Policy or just added the settings
to an exisitng one? If so, is the computer configuration settings in the
policy's properties disabled?

cheers,

Florian

Hello,
the computer configurations are NOT disabled in the GP properties.
I use existing local GP and in the Computer Configurations, at the
Administrative Template, I added the new template and thats it.
Any changes made in Computer Config are not applied, not just this template.

Thanks...

So - you are sure you linked the policy to a OU where computer objects
reside in? And the NTFS permissions of the policy are still "standard"
("Read" and "Apply" for "Authenticated Users"?)

cheers,

Florian
