I am having major problems with new laptops on our school
network. Logon is taking a long time and GPOs are not
being correctly applied. Event 1006 is logged, but I have
tried updating network drivers and following microsoft's
steps, but to no avail. Our DNS servers must be fine as no
other machines have this problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Matthew

Check that they point to only Active Directory domain controllers running dns
with the domain zone [all W2K dc's would be by default] and never any ISP dns
server listed in the preferred dns servers for a domain computer as shown by
ipconfig /all. If problems persist, run netdiag on a couple of those computers
looking for any failed tests/errors/warnings particularly relating to dns, dc
discovery, kerberos, and domain membership/secure channel. Make sure that their
time and the time zone is correct. --- Steve
