Is there any way of of bypassing a group policy that
denies interactive logon to a windows 2000 server.
At the moment I can only log on with a non administrative
account which does not allow access to any security
settings or restorative options (including backup restore)

Thanks in advance

Stu

If you are in a domain, configure the domain policy to override the Local Security
Policy. Make sure that everyone, users, and administrators are in the log on locally
user right assignment and add the guest account to the deny logon locally user right.
Run secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy /enforce on the domain controller and then
reboot problem server. After you can logon to the server, reconfigure it's Local
Security Policy user rights assignments and then set the domain policy back to
undefined. --- Steve
