hi

is there any way to run like w2k sp4 on shutdown rather then start up? i
have some slow (450mhz) machines and they rather not sit there for 15
minutes for the sp to install. i was hopeing i can have sp4 apply on
shutdown so they don't have to be there to watch it.

thanks

Hello.

There are many options available. The easiest means would be to simply
instruct Service Pack 4 to install and provide the switch "-q" to the
update.exe executable. This performs a quiet installation and will reboot
automatically. There is also an unattended mode should you need it.

You can then determine if you would like to perform the installation
manually, via a script, or via a shutdown script specified in group (or
local policy).
