Group Policy not applying universally

I'm just dipping my toes into Group Policy. I'm trying to have eveyone in the
company use a particular website as their homepage. I've done a test case
with one OU which includes my account. It works when I log on everywhere
else, except on my normal workstation! I've defined the setting in the
Software side of the Group Policy.
What am I doing wrong?

There is no "software side" -- there are Computer and User portions,
the main divisions. In each there is a Software setting area however.

Chances are that one of two things happened:

You used a Computer setting but the Users profile you already have
override that. Makes sense for software since this is how most
software works and is supposed to work.

Your Computer isn't authenticating properly and therefore didn't
receive the GPO.

Herb,

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, I meant to say on the User side. I think it may have been simply a
timing issue. It seems to be working now. The issue seemed to revolve around
a local user profile which had defined the homepage, and the GPO didn't seem
to override it until I deleted the local policy homepage setting.
I'm testing it on a wider population now and will report back my results.
Thanks again.
