OK, I got my group policy to work with XP computers!
Now, I can tell from GPRESULT in XP which policies are
applying to a user. However, is there a utility that
tells you exactly which items are activitated within a
policy in 2000 or XP and which policy activated it. It
looks like there are about 400+ options to turn/on/off or
leave unchanged. Is there a way to see just what has been
turned on or off.

Use the Group Policy Management Console - you should be able to install it
on an XP computer. You'll find it on MS website.
