You need to know that the black wire at every outlet is the
hot wire, the whiter wire is neutral and the green [or bare]
wire is ground. A simple $5 tester can check this with the
lights. A DVOM on an AC outlet will NOT test the correct
connection. But even the outlet tester does NOT verify the
whole system is really properly grounded at the junction
box.
Typical home wiring uses the water pipes as ground, but the
soil types and moisture content, the metal in the pipes and
any corrosion or loose connections can mean that the ground
has a high resistance.
Some power companies will check your system ground, but
you'll need to hire a qualified electrician to do any
repairs. There are electricians who know about electronic
requirements.
| Hi, thanks for your answers,
| I just realized that using a simple voltimeter, if I
connect to any point
| ( two posibles )
| I should read +110 volts a.c. or -110, because my current
is 220volts a.c.
