Do you mean the grid (rightclick just off the slide, choose Grids and Guides)
or do you mean a table, an inserted Excel worksheet or something else?

We'll need more specific info to help. Thanks.

I HAVE A MATRIX THAT SOMEONE ELSE MADE IN POWERPOINT. I NEED TO CHANGE THE
WIDTH OF THE HORTIZATIAL ROWS SO THAT I CAN MAKE EVERYTHING FIT ON ONE PAGE.
WHEN I TRY TO CHANGE THE WIDTH IT SNAPS RIGHT BACK INTO PLACE. I CAN CHANGE
ROWS TO BE BIGGER.

Sounds as though you need to turn off Snap To Grid. It's on the Drawing
toolbar -- click the Draw button and then Grid and Guides.

While you're at it, turn off your caps lock. Typing in all caps implies
shouting, and I'm sure you don't mean to shout at those who are attempting
to assist you.

Sorry i would never yell. Thank you for your help. I tried this already and
it didn't work. I don't know what to do.

When you right-click on this thing, does "Borders and Fill" appear as one of the
options on the popup menu? If so, it's a PPT table.

And in that case, left-click anywhere on it and then look at the sides of the
table. Halfway down each side you'll see a little circle. Click and drag that to
change the width of the table. If you click and drag anywhere else on the edge,
you'll just drag the table around w/o changing the size.

I figured that was the case. :-) (Which is why I wanted to mention it!)

Now, since turning off the grid doesn't work, try Steve's suggestion to
determine if you're working with a table. Once we know what you're working
with, we can better help you actually work with it!
