Hello Velma.
Had the same problem and below a reply from Lance that hellped me.

To re-instate the status window, you can do the following:
In IE, click View, then make sure there's a checkmark next to Status Bar.
If the check mark is there, uncheck and re-check it. If this does not work,
please let me know!
