I can upload a video into movie maker and if I hit play, it will play on the
small screen. But when I drag and drop a clip and then hit play, all I get is
audio but no video. It only shows a green screen, how do I fix this?

that's a symptom of needing to convert the video file you're using to
another format that works in Movie Maker...

see the Import Movie Source Files section of my website for conversion
tips....

Searching this ng in Google Groups archive
for >green< turns up several messages:

Are you video drivers current? Try searching
the support site of your video adapter's mfg.
for updated drivers and instructions on how to
install them.

And it's possible that your video needs to be
in a different format...MPEGs (for example)
can be troublesome.

Hi John... yes to both. Got back late last night and in the unpacking stage.

Somewhat over 9,000 picutures, mostly from a 7 megapixel camera.... and 20
hours of digital video (all widescreen mode). It was a great vacation in all
respects.

My thinking now is to add another branch to my website's Living Projects
section, which now has 2 wedding-related branches. The new branch will be
Europe301, our 3rd trip there. It'll be a multimedia rich assortment of pix,
video clips, and info about the places we stayed and visited.

It'll keep me pretty busy for a while.

I checked out your website and made sure my codecs were current and from what
I can tell, they are. Also downloaded Gspot and the video section had 3
listings and I have all three of those but I am still getting the green
screen when I drop the clip into the storyboard section. Plays fine until I
do that.
