Green Screen

I downloaded a spam eliminator yesterday and this morning not only was my entire screen green or yellowish green, but I could not get online. I finally did a system restore which got me back online (but first bought and installed a new ethernet card and adaptor and spend hours online with Cox cable tech support. Any suggestions for getting my white screen back? thanks, I really appreciate it.
 
Try turning of everything. Disconnect your monitor from the PC, on both ends
if applicable, and reconnect. Turn the power back on and start the computer.
If there is no joy, try another monitor, maybe a friends. If that don't
work, it may be the video card has gone belly up.
