Hi Guys, in need of help here. Whenever I import playable clips into the
program to try and make a movie they only preview as a green screen with the
audio. Since I can play these same files (avi's) using Media player without a
problem im stumped.

Has anyone had a similar problem?... How did you fix it?

Dear Graham
you are big seller of divx but i cant follow that logic - BECAUSE - it works
just fine until I trim the clip and then it goes green. How can that be a
divx thing?
Vyd - Missing Adobe Premiere :(

I have the same problem and have tried everything to fix it. All file types
play with flickering green, but the recorded tv files are the worst. Avi and
mpg have some green flickering but not as much. All are too extreme to make
a video. Same problem occurs in DVD Maker but NOT in media player or media
center. I can burn a tv file to a DVD in media center fine, but can't edit
it, as I'd like to do. Once it gets imported to Movie Maker, it is all
flickering green. I've tried new video drivers, changed the codecs in
compatibility to eliminate all of them and various combinations, including
the 3 that are selected on a different computer that previews the files fine.
I would really like a solution, and the ones suggested here haven't helped.

Could be that your video card, or perhaps your entire machine isn't up to
the task. Could be you have a zillion other things (possibly malware)
running in the background while trying to edit/play video that are eating up
CPU cycles. In any event, have you tried turning off hardware acceleration
to see if it 'corrects' the problem?

I was finally able to fix this by downloading and installing a program called
K-Lite Codec pack. It found some damaged codecs, which I think was what
caused the problem. It removed the damaged ones and installed new ones and
now all works as it should. Anyone with this problem could give K-Lite a
try. It isn't necessary to install all the codecs that are possible. You
can just fix the broken ones and the program has some other great features,
like being able to read all the info from video files, including the date and
time stamp. That info is not easily obtained with most software.
