Great replacement for DNSstuff.com

Yeah, the DNSstuff owner bitches about advertising at some registrar
(Network Solutions maybe) and now look at the spam crap on his web page.
However, this site isn't without advertising, either. Enter something
into the Smart Whois text box, like an IP address, click the Search
button, and the new page is spam for Name.Space.

The site opened fine for me, Firefox with Javascript.

Are you located in USA? I'm trying to figure out why this site sometimes
works and sometimes doesn't:

I'm in Zurich/Switzerland. I tried from my office, using WinXP and Firefox
2.x, with a fixed IP that belongs to my employer and is in the IP range of
sunrise.net. Result: "ACCESS DENIED"

Then I tried it again from my home, using Ubuntu Linux and Firefox (and
activated JavaScript) with an IP that belongs to another Swiss ISP (vtx).
Result: "ACCESS DENIED"
Then on the same location using my old notebook with Win2000 and IE6:
"ACCESS DENIED"

A friend of mine (near Lucerne/Switzerland) tried it using WinXP and IE7.
She could access the site. But when trying again using Firefox she
got "ACCESS DENIED", too.

What's going on there? I really get an *empty* page, just showing "ACCESS
DENIED". Source code ([ctrl]+ in Firefox) of the page shows only the
text "ACCESS DENIED".

Same here in SE Asia :(

Yep, south-central Kansas. Both the tools page,
<http://www.infosyssec.com/infosyssec/ipsectools.htm> and the home page above
opened fine for me just now.

The following from Sam Spade:

Maybe an email to the above address would shed some light?

Now that I am suing a GUI based client,I don't think I'll go back to a web server based
service.

However, this looked *real good* !

Thanx !

But have you actually tried it? I think you should.

Yes...
Yes I did.

You did?

As a curiosity, I tried several of the tools there (on the OP's page)
and they all lead to a page that says "What the f.ck is this page?!"

Or did you miss a smiley?

It's not that urgent, because I still can use dnsstuff or other tools
here and there (or on my linux box). I was just being curious why the site
refuses access from here.

It took me to a different web site on a coulple of tools I tried.

I just tried again with the tools at the top of the page and got what you got.

NOTE: I did say it "looked real good" I didn't say it "was" good.

I'll stick with the SamSpade GUI.

I suspected it might once your IP showed up,
but at least you see what they're talking about

I'm clueless, but tend to be distrustful of sites that have what seem to
be unnecessary and arrogant regional restrictions.
