grayed out icons

At the bottom left of my screen I have 3 icons for web / email / and
photoshop. They are sort of grayed out, with an unrecongnisable pattern.
they still work ok when I click on them but can`t understand why they have
gone like this. Only thing I have done is updated windows with security
updates. Everything else on the PC appears to be ok.

Any ideas on how to get my icons back?
