I have tried this and it doesn't seem to have the desired effect for me,
basically i have the same problem as described often on these forums and
have followed all the
advice given so far. However I get stuck when i have to choose to set up a
new address book as an error message comes up saying "The account you have
added is not fully configured, it might not work until re-configured
correctly" I then only have the option to cancel?

also if i go to properties on the contacts i cannot set it as a place to
look for addresses as the option is greyed out.

sorry i originally posted this as a reply to an earlier question.
I will try and explain.

I have just upgraded to office XP from office 2000.

The address book will not function (as has been noted many times on this
forum) I have tried your previously suggested fix, but i run into a couple of
snags.

1. when I try to set up a new address book as an error message comes up
saying "The account you have added is not fully configured, it might not work
until re-configured correctly" I then only have the option to cancel? i
cannot move onto next i just have to cancel.

also if i go to properties on the contacts folder and try to change it to a
destination for my address book the button is Grayed out (Not available)

2. If I try and search for my address book the drop down lists that should
have the address book in are completely blank.

I hope this is more coherent.

You must create a new profile when you do an upgrade installation.
