i would like to present a graph where initially the first five points are
drawn, then a further five points are added to reveal the whole data. The
effect i am trying to replicate is like drawing the first part of the graph,
pausing, and then completing the series. Is this animation possible ib

You can probably apply a suitable entrance animation, double click the entry
in custom animation and in chart animation tab choose "by series" or "by
catagory". You can use the little double arrow in custom animation to expand
the entry and add on click / after previous animations to suit.

If its really complex ungroup the graph and add animations to each part
(note you wont be able to edit the data if you do this)

Did that answer the question / help?

What groupings are available depends on a combination of the type of chart
and the animation effect applied. Try a simple animation effect (such as a
fade) and see if the "Group Chart" options become available on that chart
animations tab.
