Graphing with Access query data

OK, I'm completely new at this Access thing, so please bear with me. (I
have worked through a book by Grauer and Barber, so I can at least find my
way around).

I've now hit a complete stumbling block. I'm trying to create a report with
a graph for management. Report comes out Monday, shows last week's
activities.

Problem is that when I design the report, I see the MS sample data in the
datasheet. I've looked around and found a 2002 response from a Microsoft
person http://tinyurl.com/d6m38 with some incredible amount of work that I
really don't understand what/how to do.

I've also found MS KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q154454 that
shows different workaround for the problem in Forms, but only a cut/paste
solution for Reports. I understand that data is then not dynamic - I.e.. If
I need the secretary to run the report after next week it will not have
changed?

So then I found suggestions to use PivotChart, but I can't seem to get to
design a form around a pivotchart, every time I try and open the design
view, I get just the fields, not a graph.

So now I'm completely stuck, it is late on Friday and I'm screwed? Microsoft
has known about this issue since Access 7.0 and have not gotten around to
fix it??

So how do I create a report with a graph that changes from week to week
without cut/paste? Any advice?

You can view the datasheet view of your chart's row source. Copy the records
to the clipboard. Close the Row Source and open the Chart control. View the
datasheet of the chart and replace the false datasheet records with your
clipboard. You can then view the chart with your data.

Your row source should limit the records to the previous week.
