Once on every 5to10 start ups my graphic card acts up.
Has verticle lines going all the way across the screen. I
click on restart and let it boot up again and it does
fine. Any suggestions, thanks

Hi Schweinfurter,
Which way are the lines, vertical or horizonal? Could you supply a bit
more information? Dxdiag gives us lots of useful data. Start > run > type
"dxdiag" (without quotes) > run tests at tabs > save at bottom of interface
post that information here. It is possible it is a bad card, but that is
unusual. Do the lines go away once Windows loads?

Thanks for your post!

They run vertical and it actually looks like collums. It
happens when windows loads. The first screen while
booting is alright. Once I click restart and it boots up
again it's ok. I hope it's not my card. I have a
Vistontek ati 9800 pro 256 mb card and payed a pretty
penny for it. I've installed all the latest drivers
including directX9.b"I think". I also did a benchmark
test and scored a 36000. Other then on bootup (once out
of every 5-10 times)the card performs great. Thanks for
responding..

Hi Scheinfurter,
That adapter is pretty much leading edge and may not have the very best
drivers as of yet. You could eliminate the card being the problem possibly
by trying it in another machine. This would then make you want to examine
the motherboard chipset or bios for an update.
ATI is continually making new drivers and should come out with an update
soon. You might mention this to their website support and see if they have
any ideas.

Thanks again for the post!
