I have a Toshiba laptop and the screen is constantly fluttering. The desktop
icons flutter. I can't watch movies because of it. I would think it has to
do with graphics but I don't know. I have Intel Graphics Mobile Chipset and
according to their website the driver is updated. Any suggestions on what
might be the cause? I tried restoring to an earlier date but no restoral
point prior to the problem exists.

Call Toshiba to see if it is still under warranty. If so, you can send
it in to them to get it fixed.

What do you mean by 'fluttering'?

If the brightness level is flickering it's either the backlight/inverter
or the VGA chip.

If the display is moving/jumping it's the VGA chip, ribbon cable, or
overheating (check the fan).

Either way it's a hardware problem and you'll need to get it looked at.

By fluttering, I mean it's a fast constant flash. If I'm trying to watch
something on WMP, I can't because it just flashes too much. I checked my
graphics driver and it's in place but I realize it is a hardware problem and
I will have to take it somewhere. Thanks for the input.
